if a baby is born without drugs
(as it will be if it is born en route to the hospital) most will cough, sneeze and cry to expel it on their own. The puffs of air will intiiate this response more than actually supply air to the little one.

I think your calm overview of delivering a baby in a car is excellent. Well done! I hear this video helped a man do just that. Hoorah for the internet and for valuable contributors such as yourself! 5 stars

She said your shirt, not your jacket. But if you don’t have a shirt on, I bet the taxi driver would. If you don’t have a taxi driver (ie your own car), mommy should have a shirt on. I know you’d be in a hurry to get to the hospital but hoping we can assume that. ;-)

Wrong. What nobody wants is to be stuck with you at their side in a cab if they have to deliver their baby.

you’d have to pay the cab driver the cleaning fee. same as if you puke in there LOL

in the hospital they would yes, especially if baby doesnt cry. the mouth and nose are cleaned out with a hand held sucking device. also you should check the roof of babys mouth to make sure it is in tact. to do this you just touch the roof of the mouth with your pinky finger. it should feel the same as yours.

I have to agree with you. My great grandmother was a midwife, she lived in the country and most of the women she assisted were very poor. She was very good, she even had some intuition cause she´d know when a neighbor´s baby will be born and always got there on time before being called. BUT they had no other options. Childbirth is not an easy thing and if we have the technology and everything to make it safer why passing it up???.

    o_O … puffs of air ?

I don’t think anyone really wants to put their mouth on a baby that is covered in blood and is filled with the vaginal fluid to give him two puffs of air.. LOL
