My DIY Mobile DJ Booth for $50.62 US

So I ran out of time & money actually to order a djskirts.com mobilepro Boooth that I saw demo'ed in one of Brian's video and I really wanted to clean up my kit before my first gig in 15 years… What to do? Since I enjoy doing some "engineering", I decided to spend a few moments at my local homedepot and here is what I came up with. My DIY Mobile DJ booth worked like a charm at the gig yesterday. I stored it in an unused speaker stand carrying case. BTW, I used black textured spray paint for plastic, which I forgot to mention in the video. I didn't include it in the cost, since I already had it on the shelf in my workshop. To see briansredd's video on the djskirt review:www.youtube.com

What type of fabric did you use for your facade? You said you didn’t have to use a sewing machine so I was curious; was the other side of the velcro on the fabric? Thanks!

In place of iron pipe you can get plastic threaded with the same NPT thread, it’s a dark grey pipe and 1/2 the cost and weight of the iron pipe. I use 1.5×1.5×1.5 unthreaded (“slip fit”) side outs on mine but had to go to a wholesale plumbing supply for those as HD and Lowes didnt carry them. 1″ PVC was too flimsy for my desires. Mine is 8 ft across so I used tees on top and bottom rails on the front with support between to support every 4 ft.

Ya know… this is the best idea. I’ve thought of building my own nearly a year ago and purchased one. Guess what… it’s broken. I watched your video and built my own. Placed lighting bars behind the fabric and the party begun.. Thanks a million for the idea on pvc piping. Peace. DJ Knock (Washington, D.C.)

Just tried it, amazing if you put 2 color splash Jrs behind it. But don’t turn on the lights till you lights go down and the party really begins.

to fix the lean in the middle, use a t shape connector and add a pipe down the middle.

Correct, I needed the facade in 3 days. My favorite DJ stores, could not guarantee it would arrive by the gig. That lead me to think how I could get one in 3 days, which lead me to wonder how to build one.
